Conservation Report /
Treatment Report

The Conservation
Report is generated while the item is being treated, and is also referred to
as a Treatment Report. It is a compilation of our procedural notes
and photographs, turned into a report on the process of conservation treatment
on an individual item.
This is presented to the client after
the conserved item is delivered. Depending upon the client's needs and finances, a Conservation
Report can be quite detailed or very minimal, but
it is necessary, and as conservators, it is a requirement. The Case Studies shown on
this website are taken from Conservation Reports, which can be a few hundred
pages in a complicated project. We will soon post a sample conservation
report from the NPS, and until then, we recommend potential clients contact us
for samples.
During conservation, the following may be
generated as part of the Conservation Report:
 |
Excavation Report

Other Documentation
Our documentations specialist is a talented writer. We
will be happy to write articles for publication to be used in institutional
magazines or exhibits about conservation treatment or any other related item..
Slideshows are also a
relatively new item we can offer our clients. These can be utilized as
thank you gifts to donors, on websites, and in exhibits.

Photographic Documentation
 We
keep records of the entire project: prior to
treatment, during treatment (through what we term Process Photographs), and
after treatment. Process Photographs are those taken during the
process of excavation, repairs, and rebuilding. In a given job,
depending upon the scope of the project and the
size of the piece, we may take
thousands of photographs; these are sorted into a "Best Of" for client records.

Slideshows!
