Move to Portland

In June 2008  MPFC moved its studio to Portland, Oregon.  By being central to the Pacific Northwest, we can better serve our clients From Seattle to Northern California.  If you are in the Portland area, contact us by calling 503-452-2800.  If you are in Southern Oregon, contact us by calling 541-899-3306.

Web Changes

Our website is undergoing changes, and we are scheduled to be completely up and running by the end of summer!  As we update the site, we will place changes here!

Articles are now being updated and will be available by end of October.

 Call For Information:

We would like to produce a "booklet" or essay about the NPS Crater Lake Centennial Quilt, with the goal to  to eventually send to various quilting museums in the United States, and, of course, to add to the documentation for the NPS.  At this time no profit is to be made on the booklet, but if so, we will cover the profit margins for any possible profits within a contract and release form that we will be crafting before the writing of the book, just in case someone actually decided to purchase it!  MPFC is doing the initial work pro bono, as Kate is a lover of quilts, just as you all created the quilt on your own time and at your expense.

We need the following to write the text.  We would prefer the information to be written in WORD or emailed, or hand written, but if the person with the information is uncomfortable with writing we can interview them.  Photos are welcome.  We want the following:

bulletBasic info about the making of the square, materials, etc.
bulletThe story behind the square's design
bulletInformation about the quilter, including any photographs or stories about their quilting experience (or lack thereof)
bulletTheir personal history with the park, or how they came to be involved in the quilt
bulletAny other information that the quilter might find interesting

Also, we would like the instigator of the quilt to contact us so that we can ask additional information.  All quilters can review our writing and editing of their information prior to our final edit.

If there are stories about the travels of the quilt during its tour those too would be welcome.

The tone of the book will be fun, personal, and quirky -- as are so many stories in the Pacific Northwest!

Many thanks -- Kate Powell, dkatiepowell@aol.com .  If you are sending photographs please email or call first so that I will open your email with attachments:  503-452-2800.  Code word:  QUILTS!
