MPF Conservation is happy to assist you with period appropriate design, for both exhibits and for period houses and other buildings.

Our most recent design project was the NPS Crater Lake Science and Learning Center, which had a complete set of conserved Imperial Monterey furnishings as the basis for the design project.  The historical Superintendent's house is now a working museum for scientists and students, and so pieces had to be affordable and in keeping with the period, but, other than the Imperial furniture, were not authentic items from the era.  MPFC found items to satisfy those criteria, which can be seen in the slideshow on the Imperial Monterey Sofa, and in photos below, without stepping outside the financial constraints of the National Park Service's budget.

Items procured and/or created included drapes, reproduction donor plaque, rugs, plates, runners, pillows (both for the furniture and floor pillows to sit on), throws, lamps, and accessories.
