Katie Powell had her own business as an architectural and corporate interior designer prior to joining MPFC.  Her background prior to coming to Oregon included teaching at UCLA for seven years  and guest lecturing for other institutions and for ASID / IBD.  At UCLA she served on the Guidance Committee, developing seven core courses for the school of design, and also participated in the student thesis program.  

 

RESUME

Eight Years, UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, Los Angeles, CA.    Design Instructor.  Besides teaching core classes, primary responsibilities included writing and developing four corporate classes dealing with project management & design and construction drawings, to round out their corporate design program.  Also taught one-day courses on resume writing, marketing strategies, and other management-oriented disciplines.

Crater Lake National Park Science and Learning Center:  We had the pleasure to conserve three dozen pieces of Imperial Monterey Furniture for Crater Lake National Park's Science and Learning Center, as well as assist them in Interior Design appropriate to the period of the first Superintendent's House.
